Bite Herbicide
Bite Herbicide is a selective postemergence herbicide containing 40.9% clopyralid for control of troublesome annual, biennial, and perennial broadleaf weeds in agricultural crops, Range & Pasture, CRP acres, tree-production sites, and non-cropland. A generic equivalent to Transline Herbicide, Bite delivers 3 lb acid equivalent of clopyralid per gallon and is also comparable in active ingredient and concentration to Sonora.
As a Group 4 synthetic auxin herbicide, Bite is especially useful for difficult weeds such as Canada thistle, spotted and diffuse knapweed, dandelion, clover, cocklebur, ragweed, sowthistle, and wild buckwheat. Its selective activity allows established grasses and many labeled crops or tree species to remain while susceptible broadleaf weeds are controlled or suppressed according to the specific use pattern.
Features & Benefits
✓ Provides selective postemergence control of numerous troublesome annual and perennial broadleaf weeds
✓ Delivers 3 lb acid equivalent of clopyralid per gallon in a professional high-strength formulation
✓ Generic equivalent to Transline Herbicide with the same active ingredient and concentration
✓ Controls or suppresses difficult weeds including Canada thistle, knapweeds, clover, cocklebur, ragweed, and sowthistle
✓ Labeled across numerous agricultural crops in addition to Range & Pasture, CRP, and non-crop sites
✓ Established perennial grasses are tolerant in labeled Range & Pasture programs
✓ Supports tank mixtures with other labeled herbicides where a broader weed-control spectrum is needed
Labeled Use Sites
Bite is labeled for apples, asparagus, barley, oats, wheat not underseeded with legumes, Brassica crops, canola, crambe, Christmas tree plantations, field corn, popcorn, sweet corn, cottonwood, poplar and eucalyptus plantations, fallow cropland, garden beet, grasses grown for seed, peppermint, spearmint, southern pine seedbeds, spinach, stone fruits, sugar beet, turnip, Range & Pasture, Conservation Reserve Program acres, and non-cropland including fencerows, areas around farm buildings, and equipment pathways. Crop- and state-specific restrictions apply.
Target Weeds
Bite controls labeled broadleaf weeds including Canada thistle, spotted knapweed, diffuse knapweed, dandelion, common and giant ragweed, cocklebur, black medic, red clover, white clover, sweet clover, hop clover, burdock, curly dock, horseweed, oxeye daisy, prickly lettuce, yellow starthistle, bull thistle, musk thistle, wild buckwheat, nightshades, sunflower, vetch, pineappleweed, groundsel, and other susceptible broadleaf weeds. Russian knapweed, certain smartweeds, annual sowthistle, and other specifically identified weeds are labeled for suppression rather than full control at designated rates and timings.
Application Notes
Apply Bite to actively growing weeds at the labeled growth stage. Rates vary by crop and use site from approximately 1/6 to 1 1/3 pt per acre. Range & Pasture and non-cropland programs generally use 1/2 to 1 1/3 pt per acre depending on target weed, infestation level, and growing conditions. For Canada thistle and knapweed in non-crop programs, use the higher labeled portion of the rate range when conditions warrant.
Adjuvants are not usually required, although a surfactant or other labeled adjuvant may improve performance in some applications and may reduce crop selectivity under stress. Bite can persist in treated vegetation, manure, and soil, so observe all crop-rotation, compost, manure, grazing-transfer, and sensitive broadleaf crop restrictions. Bite is not labeled for landscaping, turfgrass, or lawns under its non-crop use pattern. Always follow the complete label for crop-specific rates, harvest intervals, and restrictions.
